âAnd it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.â
â Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
I feel led to share a word for the pioneersâfor those who have been praying for more, pushing through pain, and longing to see God move.
Over the past few weeks, one phrase has echoed in my spirit:
âWe are standing at a threshold of faith.â
But what exactly is a threshold?
A threshold is the entry point to something new. Itâs that moment when what used to work no longer fits, and the place youâre headed requires greater faith. At a threshold of faith, you reach a space where you canât keep operating within your old limitations. God is preparing you for breakthroughâHeâs stretching you to fit into the future Heâs already designed
At First, It Feels Like Pressure
Thresholds often show up disguised as resistance. You may feel emotionally unsettled or mentally attacked. One day youâre hopeful, and the next, you feel completely overwhelmed. While this pressure may seem like opposition, itâs also divine preparation.
Why does it feel so intense? Because God is calling you higher. At the same time, the enemy is doing everything he can to hold you back. God calls you to rise like an eagle, but the enemy wants you grounded like a turkeyâdistracted, discouraged, and doubting.
However, you are made to soar.
Thresholds Are Invitations to Grow
âWe all⌠are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing gloryâŚâ
â 2 Corinthians 3:18
In this journey of faith, we move from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). God leads us through thresholds not because something is wrong, but because weâve asked for more. That internal stretching is the answer to our own prayers.
Before God brings breakthrough, He transforms your inner world. If He moved you forward without renewing your mindset and identity, the weight of the blessing would crush you. Thatâs why you may feel pressureâitâs the groundwork of preparation.
We often ask for new levels, but resist the very process that gets us there.
We Want the PromiseâBut Resist the Process
In our modern Christian walk, we crave blessing but resist refinement. We long for the mountaintop but avoid the wilderness.
Letâs be honest:
- We avoid deliverance.
- We avoid healing.
- We avoid conviction.
- We avoid the refining fire.
- We want favor without surrender.
- We want the promise, but not the pruning.
And yet, it doesn’t work that way. Right now, God is trying to elevate youâbut the tension is real. It feels like you’re surrounded by rubble. The promises feel delayed. You may wonder if God even heard you.
When It Feels Too Late
This is where the battle intensifiesâbecause it seems like youâve reached the end. But even in your doubt, God is faithful.
âIt was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep His promise.â â Hebrews 11:11
Sarahâs breakthrough came when it looked impossible. She had already passed the time of bearing fruit. Yet, God moved. She had to stop relying on her strength and trust in His miraculous power.
Thatâs the heart of faith. Even when nothing is workingâeven when you feel spiritually âbarrenââGod is asking you to believe again.
All He Needs Is Your “Yes”
God isnât looking for perfect faith. Heâs simply asking for your agreement.
âIf you had faith even as small as a mustard seed… you could say to this mountain, âMove from here to there,â and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.â â Matthew 17:20
Thresholds often feel like your most broken, vulnerable, and disqualified moments. But these are exactly the places where God chooses to stretch you. He doesnât wait until everything is in order. He meets you in your emptiness, your weakness, and your surrender.
Yes, It Feels Deepâand Thatâs Okay
Perhaps youâre thinking, What if I canât swim? What if I stumble? Thatâs exactly what thresholds feel like. Iâve been there too, where the stretching felt more like survival than progress.
In the natural, it feels like warfare, mental exhaustion, loss, closed doors, and confusion. But spiritually, God is revealing the areas where youâve relied on your own strengthâyour talents, your logic, your reputation.
These old foundations can no longer sustain you.
At the same time, the enemy wants you to give upâright at the edge of your breakthrough. He wants you to break before the breakthrough comes.
But God Is Whispering: Stay
A few days ago, I was surrounded by pressure and doubt. Then I heard the Lord whisper,
âThe only way to make it through this season is to stay at My feet. Stay in My presence.â
Thatâs the key. Not hustle. Not strategy. Surrender.
Youâre Crossing Over in His Strength
I prophesy over you now: like Caleb and Joshua, who lingered in Godâs presence and emerged with a different spiritâyou will cross this threshold with new eyes, new ears, and a renewed heart.
Even now, God is uninstalling your old operating system. Heâs cutting away the pain and shame of your past.
âToday I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.â â Joshua 5:9
False labels, past failures, and old identities are being removed. God is recommissioning you.
This threshold of faith? Itâs your breakthrough. Itâs time to crossâin the name of Jesus.
